The night life

This will be the last post of the day but I have really wanted to get this work up for a number of reasons. These are photographs that mean a lot to me and I am extremely proud of them. They solidified my belief in myself as an artist. They are indicative of my style and the mood and aesthetics I try to achieve. They also constituted part of my portfolio for application to graduate school. All of these photos except for one were shot in Baltimore. Right now I am at an junction in my work where I am trying new things (shooting during the day on the street and portraiture) in order to learn and expand my understanding of what interests me. I will always be fascinated by the night and artificial light. I would like to think of this series as a study on ideas of isolation and solitude by myself as an attempt to cause the viewer to feel those emotions. In doing so hopefully the viewer learns something about their self and realizes that these are necessary feelings to experience in a world where we may feel like being alone is a bad thing.

Hummingbirds in New Mexico

Never before have I seen as many hummingbirds in one place as I did in New Mexico. It was truly astounding. They are beautiful creatures and very brave as you can see below. Cool birds man.

Ravenwind

Our time spent in on Ravenwind Ranch in New Mexico was truly amazing. And as you can see it is a beautiful place. Revisiting these pictures makes me miss my family. Especially my beautiful sister Vanessa. Enjoy.

Siblings

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I have pages upon pages of black and white negatives from this trip. Unfortunately I haven't had time to get to them due to my workload at school. So much more coming soon.

Carlsbad

We will start with Carlsbad Caverns. Truly amazing. I have long exposure black and white photos from this trip that I have yet to print. Everyone must go here before you die.

Sorry that I haven't been posting but I have been working extremely hard in the studio. So the plan is... I'm gonna finish posting the pictures from New Mexico then post some older work. Then I will begin posting almost every day. Love.
